The Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund makes emergency funding available for assistance with costs incurred as a direct resulted of an unforseen large-scale (20 or more pets) impound situation. If you have a situation for which you want to request funding, please contact us at 303-722-6435 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. All CPOF funding received for this specific purpose must be spent according to the license plate funding restrictions:  spay/neuter surgery, veterinary medical treatment, and microchip identification (implant and registration) of pet animals in the care of shelters, rescue groups, and animal control agencies. Only Colorado animal care and control organizations that principally serve Colorado animals and Colorado communities are eligible for CPOF funding.
